Police Officer Injured in Alleged Hit-and-Run in Walkervale
A hit-and-run incident in Bundaberg has led to charges against two individuals. On November 17, police investigating an abandoned stolen vehicle near Cullen Street in Walkervale encountered a silver Subaru Forester. The vehicle allegedly drove directly at a police officer attempting to intercept it, causing minor chest and foot injuries.
The driver, a 19-year-old Branyan woman, faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle, failure to comply with driver duties, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is set to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court. The passenger, a 16-year-old Kalkie boy, has been charged with unlawful vehicle use and wilful damage. He will appear in Bundaberg Children’s Court.
The injured officer was treated at Bundaberg Base Hospital and has since been discharged. Authorities continue to address such incidents, emphasizing public safety and accountability.
