Train Strike in Sydney Averted After Last-Minute Talks

NSW Government and Rail Union Reach Agreement to Avoid Strike

A planned train strike in Sydney this weekend has been called off following last-minute negotiations between the NSW Government and the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU). The industrial action, set to start Friday, was postponed to allow for two weeks of further talks on a new enterprise bargaining agreement.

The government will provide as many 24-hour train services as possible, starting Thursday night. The resolution averts major disruptions for commuters while discussions continue.
