Tragic Skydiving Accident Claims the Life of Jervis Bay Father

Family Mourns Loss After Devastating Skydiving Incident

A heartbreaking tragedy has struck a family in Jervis Bay, NSW, as Roger Goltz, a seasoned skydiver and father of six, lost his life during his 77th jump. Roger was accompanied by his 18-year-old son, Kai, when a sudden wind shift caused him to turn too low and fast, leading to a fatal crash.

Kai, who witnessed the incident, initially didn’t realize that his father was the one involved in the accident until he recognized his shoe on the ground. Roger suffered a critical head injury upon impact and was airlifted to Canberra by a nearby Toll helicopter. Despite the efforts, Roger was pronounced dead on Sunday.

Roger’s wife, Kelly, described the incident as a freak accident, and the circumstances are still under investigation. She recalled Roger as a loving father who always pursued adventure, making anything possible for his children.

The family is now facing the added hardship of potentially losing their Jervis Bay home due to financial strain following the tragedy.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the grieving family, who are left with an irreplaceable void in their hearts.
