Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash in Sydney’s South West

Man Dies After Car Hits House

A man has lost his life following a single-vehicle crash in Wiley Park, Sydney, early on October 7, 2024. Emergency services responded just before 12:30 a.m. after reports indicated that a Toyota Corolla had veered off the road, crashed through a fence, and collided with the front of a house on Cornelia Street.

A man, believed to be in his 20s and outside the house at the time, was struck by the vehicle and sadly could not be revived despite the efforts of first responders.

The 24-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital for mandatory testing. He was subsequently transported to Campsie Police Station, where he is cooperating with the investigation.

A crime scene has been established, and specialist police are conducting a thorough examination. Officers from Campsie Police Area Command have begun inquiries into the incident.
