Tragic Drowning Incident at Royal National Park

Young Man Dies at Winifred Falls Swimming Hole

A man in his 20s has tragically drowned at Winifred Falls in the Royal National Park. Emergency services responded to the incident around 2:35 pm on Monday, 25 November 2024, after reports of a drowning.

Police from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene, where the man was pulled unresponsive from the water. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report will be prepared for the coroner to determine the cause of death.
