A Night of Celebration Turns Tragic
What was meant to be a joyous 18th birthday celebration turned into a nightmare for a group of friends in Western Australia.
The accident, which occurred on Farrington Road in Perth’s south, claimed the life of Nick Campo, left Tyler Rowe with severe injuries, and now has another teen facing charges.
Tyler Rowe, who survived the crash, spent 11 days in a coma and woke up in the hospital with no memory of the event. He suffered a broken jaw, neck, and pelvis and faces a long road to recovery.
Tragically, his close friend Nick Campo, who was celebrating his 18th birthday, died in the crash. The two had been inseparable, sharing dreams of playing AFL together.
Nick’s parents have since launched a road safety campaign, “Call Out For Nick,” to prevent similar tragedies. Tyler, now supporting the campaign, emphasizes the importance of speaking up when something seems wrong, a message he wishes he could have shared with his friend that fateful night.
