Dog Attack Leaves Woman Critically Injured in Townsville
A 34-year-old woman from Townsville, Queensland, has lost her arm after being mauled by her own dog inside her home on Lonerganne Street, Garbutt. The attack occurred just after 7 a.m. on Friday. Police were the first responders and used a tourniquet to control the woman’s severe blood loss before rushing her to Townsville University Hospital. Initially in critical condition, she was later reported to be stable.
The dog, described as a large breed, possibly a pit bull, was shot by police after the incident. Investigations into the attack are ongoing.
