Aggravated Robbery Leads to Arrest of Three Teenagers
Three teenagers were arrested following an aggravated robbery in the northern suburbs late last night. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, 11 October, when police responded to reports of a robbery on Elizabeth Way in Elizabeth. Three suspects, armed with knives, threatened a man and demanded his belongings.
The suspects also smashed a window at a nearby sports centre, where they threatened a second victim and stole personal items. Afterward, they entered a gym and confronted a third victim, stealing the keys to his green Suzuki Jimny, which they took from the car park.
About 20 minutes later, police spotted the stolen vehicle on Montacute Road in Cavan. A brief pursuit ensued, but PolAir tracked the car as it traveled through Prospect and Kilburn. The vehicle was eventually spiked on Churchill Road, causing it to crash into a light pole at Prospect Road. The suspects fled the scene but were arrested soon after without further incident.
The three 16-year-old suspects, from Elizabeth Vale, Elizabeth, and Enfield, were charged with aggravated robbery, illegal vehicle use, aggravated criminal trespass, and other serious offenses. They were granted police bail and will appear in Elizabeth Youth Court on 22 November. Fortunately, none of the victims sustained physical injuries.
