Third Person Charged in Theft of Limited Edition Coins from Sydney Warehouse

Woman Allegedly Drove Getaway Vehicle in Heist of Rare “Bluey” Coins

Detectives have charged a third suspect in the theft of 63,000 limited edition “Bluey” coins, valued at tens of thousands of dollars, from a warehouse in Wetherill Park, Sydney.

On July 12, 2024, Fairfield City Police received reports of the large-scale theft of these unreleased $1 coins, produced by the Australian Mint. Strike Force Bandit, led by the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, began investigating the case, resulting in the arrests of two men who are currently facing court proceedings.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Bandit detectives, with support from the Raptor Squad, arrested a 27-year-old woman at her Green Valley residence on October 29, 2024.

She faces charges of aggravated break and enter and disposing of stolen property. Authorities allege she served as the getaway driver in the heist. The woman was denied bail and is set to appear in Liverpool Local Court.
