Pavel Durov to Appear in French Court
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has been released from French police custody after four days of questioning over allegations that the messaging app is being used for illegal activities.

Arrested at Le Bourget airport near Paris, Durov’s detention is part of a judicial inquiry into 12 alleged criminal violations, including child sexual abuse material, drug trafficking, and organized crime.
The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that Durov, who holds citizenship in Russia, France, the UAE, and St Kitts and Nevis, will appear in court.
While French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the arrest was part of an independent investigation and not politically motivated, Russian officials criticized the arrest as a Western double standard on free speech.
