Teenager Charged After Alleged Assault and Robbery on Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Online Meeting Turns Violent in North Curl Curl

A teenager has been charged following an alleged assault and robbery of a man at a park in North Curl Curl on January 22, 2024. The 47-year-old victim had arranged to meet a male he met on a dating app. Upon arrival, the man was reportedly assaulted by a group of individuals who also stole his belongings. The group fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command launched an investigation under Strike Force Dividing, focusing on assaults involving juvenile males meeting adult men through dating apps.

Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at Manly Police Station on October 22, 2024. He has been charged with robbery in company and dealing with proceeds of crime. The teenager has been granted strict conditional bail and is scheduled to appear before a Children’s Court on November 20, 2024.
