Sydney Metro Set to Open After Completing Safety Checks

The highly anticipated Sydney Metro is finally opening this Monday, August 19, following the completion of all necessary safety checks. Transport Minister Jo Haylen confirmed the news on social media, expressing excitement for the launch.

Metro City Line to Enhance Sydney’s Transport

The Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) has officially granted the approvals needed after thoroughly assessing the metro’s operational safety. This green light comes after delays that pushed the opening from its initial date at the end of July.

Minister Haylen emphasized that safety and reliability were prioritized, ensuring that passengers can trust the new service.

The new Metro City line will connect Sydenham to Chatswood, with key stops at Crows Nest, North Sydney’s Victoria Cross, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Gadigal Station, Central, and Waterloo.

This addition to Sydney’s transport network promises to significantly enhance connectivity across the city, offering a reliable and efficient travel option for commuters.

With the Sydney Metro ready to roll, the wait is finally over, and the city is set to experience a new era of public transportation.
