Christmas Spirit Shines as Adelaide Welcomes the 92nd Annual Pageant
South Australia Police (SAPOL) is set to lead the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, marking its 92nd year in Adelaide on Saturday, November 4.
This family-friendly event, expected to draw around 320,000 attendees, kicks off at 9:30 am with SAPOL’s Blue Light fleet, Mounted Operations Unit, and Band of the South Australia Police, promising a parade of festive blue and white.
The parade begins on South Terrace, proceeding through King William Street and concluding at Beehive Corner, Rundle Mall. This year, Father Christmas will wrap up his journey under the Gawler Place canopy in Rundle Mall.

Superintendent Scott Denny has encouraged families to utilize “if I’m lost” wristbands for children and vulnerable individuals to ensure safety, with five children successfully reunited with families last year.
SAPOL urges attendees to remain behind the blue honour line and follow instructions for safe crossing. Road closures, restricted parking, and public transport detours will begin at 5 am. SAPOL recommends public transit to avoid traffic congestion.
Attendees are advised to label bags with contact details, set a family meeting spot, and dress children in bright clothing for easier identification in the crowd.
For everyone’s security, SAPOL encourages reporting any suspicious activity to nearby police officers or by calling 131 444. Superintendent Denny expressed the force’s commitment to a safe event, adding, “All we want for Christmas is an incident-free event.”
