Police Apprehend Alleged Car Thieves After High-Speed Chase
On November 4, Melbourne police arrested six teens after a high-speed chase involving a stolen Porsche across the city’s southeast suburbs. The vehicle was spotted by the Air Wing, allegedly speeding at 240km/h on the Monash Freeway around 4:20 am.
Police tracked the Porsche to Huntingfield Road in Toorak, deploying stop sticks to bring the vehicle to a halt on Queens Avenue in Caulfield East. Officers moved in quickly, detaining all six occupants.
The alleged driver, a 16-year-old from Glen Iris, now faces multiple charges, including dangerous driving, reckless conduct endangering life, theft, and unlicensed driving. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in a children’s court.
