Fake Video Promises $70,000 Monthly from a $400 Investment
A new investment scam is circulating on social media, using AI deepfake technology to impersonate Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The fraudulent video claims that investing $400 will generate $70,000 per month, falsely stating that Albanese launched this scheme with Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest.
This is not the first time scammers have misused Forrest’s name. He has previously spoken out against such frauds, warning the public to be cautious.
How the Scam Works
Scammers lure victims to a fake investment platform, where they:
🔹 Offer free registration to collect sensitive personal details.
🔹 Promise high profits and early retirement, playing on financial dreams.
🔹 Reference the Prime Minister’s reputation to sound legitimate.
🔹 Target people with no investment experience, making them easy prey.
Stay Vigilant Against Online Scams
If an investment opportunity sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Authorities urge people to be cautious and report suspicious ads or websites promoting such scams.
