Scam Uncovered: The Downfall of an Illegal Childcare Centre in Western Sydney

How a Fraudulent Childcare Scheme Deceived Parents and Investors

A childcare centre in Western Sydney has been exposed as a front for a scam, defrauding parents and investors of hundreds of thousands of dollars. At the centre of the scheme is Anna Marie Gewargis, who allegedly tricked multiple people into giving her about $275,000 over six months.

She convinced Ninef Shamouel, an investor, to invest over $250,000 in a childcare business that was never legally registered or operational. Gewargis promised high returns and expansion opportunities, but the funds disappeared, and payments stopped.

Parents who entrusted their children to the centre also suffered. They prepaid thousands for childcare that was never delivered. Some even faced unsafe conditions for their children.

The centre operated without proper registration, violating childcare regulations, including allowing unvaccinated children. Gewargis has been banned from the childcare industry, and investigations continue as victims seek justice.

This case highlights the need for vigilance in choosing childcare providers and thoroughly investigating business propositions.
