CCTV and Dashcam Footage Requested After Deliberate Fire
On October 25, 2024, WA Police and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) responded to a fire at a business on Great Eastern Highway in Midland around 2:30 AM. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered a white Nissan Navara utility crashed into the building, which was fully engulfed in flames. The fire caused extensive damage, with costs estimated at $500,000 to the affected business and neighboring stores.
Following a fire scene investigation, the Arson Squad confirmed the fire was intentionally set. Police have since released CCTV footage and images showing the vehicle in the area before the incident and are actively seeking public assistance to track down those responsible.
Anyone who observed the white Nissan Navara prior to the fire, or who has CCTV, mobile, or dashcam footage from 1:30 AM to 3:30 AM, is urged to provide this to police. Footage can be uploaded via the link on the WA Police website. Information can also be shared anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.
