Investigation Underway After Firearms Stolen from Unmarked Police Vehicle

Townsville police are urgently seeking public assistance following a firearm theft during a break-in early on 24 November 2024. Around 3:30 am, up to four offenders arrived in a silver Holden Commodore with false plates and targeted vehicles in a secure apartment complex on Wills Street.

Among the vehicles breached was an unmarked police car, from which a police-issued firearm and ammunition were stolen. The offenders fled in a stolen black BMW and the original Holden Commodore.
