Police Appeal for Information After Auburn Shooting and Car Fire Incident

Auburn Shooting Linked to Car Fire in Carramar

Police are investigating a public shooting in Auburn and a related car fire in Carramar under Strike Force Martorell. On Wednesday, 23 October 2024, at around 3pm, shots were fired at three people standing near a parked car on Chisholm Street, Auburn. While no injuries were reported, several shots hit a nearby house and vehicle.

Around 20 minutes later, police were alerted to a car fire on Haughton Street, Carramar, believed to be linked to the shooting. Dashcam footage shows two men, dressed in black, setting the vehicle ablaze. One of the men reportedly sustained significant burns to his leg during the incident. The suspects were last seen running towards Heiden Park and Prospect Creek.

Police are urging the public to come forward with any dashcam footage or information from the areas surrounding Heiden Park and Prospect Creek around 3:20pm.
