NASA Crew-8 Mission Completes, One Astronaut Remains Under Medical Observation
NASA’s Crew-8 mission safely returned to Earth, but one astronaut remains under observation for a medical issue at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Florida. The astronaut, whose identity has not been disclosed to protect privacy, is reported to be in stable condition. The rest of the crew—NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin—were cleared after medical evaluations and have returned to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Crew-8’s SpaceX Dragon spacecraft executed a smooth reentry and splashdown near Pensacola, Florida, following a 235-day mission, with 232 of those days spent aboard the International Space Station. During routine post-mission evaluations on the recovery ship, medical personnel requested additional assessments as a precaution, leading to the current observation of the astronaut.
NASA extended gratitude to Ascension Sacred Heart for their support, acknowledging the quick action taken to ensure crew safety. Crew-8’s mission included extensive scientific research, marking another achievement in space exploration and international collaboration.
