Mickleham Man Charged Over Drugs Sent Through Mail

ICARUS Taskforce Makes Arrest Following Drug Trafficking Investigation

A Mickleham man has been charged following an investigation by the ICARUS Taskforce, which uncovered drugs being trafficked via mail. Detectives executed a search warrant at a Darwinia Drive residence, seizing $82,000 in cash and a machete. The 38-year-old man has been charged with multiple drug trafficking offenses and dealing with proceeds of crime.

Police allege that heroin and methamphetamine were found in packages sent between March and August 2024, destined for Western Australia. The man will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in January 2025.

The ICARUS Taskforce conducts regular mail scanning operations in collaboration with Australia Post and the Australian Border Force to identify illicit drugs being sent through the mail system. This initiative aims to disrupt drug trafficking networks and enhance community safety.
