A 62-year-old Maidstone man had his license immediately suspended after allegedly driving over five times the legal alcohol limit. Footscray officers spotted his white Toyota van on Jackson Street at around 7:30 p.m. on 15 October, after it had reportedly been involved in a collision.
The man was intercepted, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol reading of .257. He was taken to the station for further testing, and his license was suspended on the spot. The driver is expected to face traffic charges soon.
