Details Emerge in Tragic Death of 15-Year-Old Boy
A Sydney court has denied bail to 32-year-old Jacob Greig, accused of murdering a 15-year-old boy found dead in bushland on the outskirts of Sydney. According to police, Greig allegedly attacked the intoxicated teenager late Friday night near a campsite in Wilton, chasing and slashing him with a knife.
Witness statements and evidence suggest the boy attempted to open Greig’s car door, saying he was “trying to get home.” Greig allegedly threatened him, saying, “I’ll get you good” and “I’m going to chop your hand off,” before slashing the boy’s forearm, causing severe bleeding.
Prosecutors allege Greig left the boy to die, with a “trail of blood” extending 30 meters. Greig’s lawyer sought bail, arguing the cause of death remains unclear, suggesting the fatal injuries may have come from the boy falling off the car rather than the lacerations.
However, Magistrate Robert Rabbidge described the case as “extraordinary,” highlighting the strength of the police evidence. Greig remains in custody and will return to court on January 8, 2025.
