Northern Territory Man Accused of Abduction and Reckless Gun Use
A 26-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences, including kidnapping and firearm violations, after a tense incident at a Northern Territory pub. The man allegedly entered Daly Waters pub around 9 pm, armed with two firearms, and threatened patrons before abducting one of them. He reportedly forced the victim to drive nearly 300 kilometers to Katherine, during which a shot was fired inside the vehicle, though no injuries were reported.
Footage from the arrest shows the shirtless suspect surrendering near Katherine’s public library after discarding a long-barrelled gun and a pistol. The man faces 11 charges, including altering a firearm, kidnapping, and recklessly endangering life. Police have commended their swift action and urged the public to remain vigilant.
