Arrest at Melbourne Airport Ends Attempted Escape
A 32-year-old man has been charged following an alleged aggravated burglary and sexual assault in Lilydale. Police arrested the man at Melbourne Airport as he attempted to board an international flight.
Authorities allege the man forced entry into a Lilydale home early Sunday morning, where he sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman. Charges include aggravated burglary, rape, threats to kill, and intentionally causing injury. The accused appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
