Man Charged for Allegedly Aiming Laser at Police Aircraft in Dubbo

Aircraft Safety Threatened in Late-Night Incident

A 35-year-old man has been charged after allegedly targeting a PolAir aircraft with a green laser pointer in East Dubbo. Around 10:30 pm on Saturday, November 2, PolAir 7 was flying over the area when the laser was aimed at the aircraft, posing a serious safety risk.

Officers from the Orana Mid-Western Police District quickly responded, locating and arresting the suspect at a home on Lunar Avenue. He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with acts endangering the safety of an aircraft. The man has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Dubbo Local Court on November 27, 2024.
