Attempted Abduction in Whittlesea Leads to Charges
A man has been charged following an alleged attempted kidnapping in Whittlesea on October 25. Around 6:20 p.m., the suspect reportedly tried to pull a 27-year-old woman into a grey Mitsubishi Triton utility on Forest Street.
Fortunately, the woman escaped uninjured as the man fled towards Church Street. Earlier that morning, the same man allegedly approached two teenage girls on scooters along Oak Bank Boulevard. The girls, aged 13 and 14, quickly escaped unharmed.
The suspect was intercepted by police on the Midland Highway in Shepparton on Saturday morning. A 39-year-old man from Mill Park now faces multiple charges, including aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and attempted kidnapping. He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 28.
