Highlights of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Visit to Australia
Next month, King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit Australia for the first time since ascending the throne, marking the first visit by a reigning monarch since Queen Elizabeth II in 2011.
The five-day tour, running from October 18 to 23, will focus on key interests of the royal couple in Sydney and Canberra.
In Canberra, they will attend events at Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial, hosted by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. King Charles, known for his environmental advocacy, will visit the National Botanic Gardens and meet scientists at CSIRO studying bushfires and environmental resilience.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla will engage with domestic violence advocates and representatives from GIVIT, a charity organization.
In Sydney, the itinerary includes a fleet review by the Royal Australian Navy on Sydney Harbour and a community barbecue. The King will meet with Australians of the Year to discuss cancer research and sit with Indigenous representatives to learn more about First Nations culture. Queen Camilla will visit a local library.
Despite health concerns following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, King Charles is continuing with the planned tour, demonstrating his commitment to Australia and its people.
