Greens Propose New Bill to Combat Price Gouging

New Legislation Could Fine Corporations Up to $50 Million

The Greens have proposed a new bill to address price gouging by large corporations, including supermarkets, energy providers, and banks. The bill suggests fines up to $50 million for companies that unjustly inflate prices.

It empowers the ACCC to seek court orders against such practices and calls on Labor and the Coalition to support the measure.
