From Hobby to High-Flying Spectacle
At the Gold Coast’s Pacific Airshow, a unique team of amateur pilots known as Freedom Formation took to the skies. This group, the largest formation aerobatic display team in Australia, consists of 13 pilots with day jobs in fields like construction, accounting, and engineering.
They fly Van’s RV aircrafts, which they built themselves, in a synchronized formation that captivates audiences.

The team’s journey began when Eddie Seve, one of the pilots, saw an advertisement for the airshow and gathered friends to pitch the idea of participating.
With the help of their flying instructor, Jeremy Miller, they quickly assembled a team and choreographed their first performance. What makes Freedom Formation stand out is their seamless coordination, achieved through shared training and procedures.
