MATES Visa Program for Indian Nationals to Start in December 2024
Australia has launched the MATES program, a new visa scheme for Indian nationals, allowing top graduates and early-career professionals to live and work in Australia for up to two years.
Starting December 2024, eligible candidates from India’s leading universities can enter a pre-application ballot for the Temporary Work (International Relations) Subclass 403 visa. Each year, 3,000 spots will be available, and participants may bring dependents.
This initiative strengthens ties between Australia and India while addressing skill shortages in key industries. Qualified applicants will contribute expertise in areas including:
- Renewable energy
- Mining
- Engineering
- Information and communications technology
- Artificial intelligence
- Financial technology
- Agricultural technology
