Authorities Seek Answers in Six-Year-Old Case
The NSW Government and NSW Police Force have announced a $500,000 reward for information about the suspicious death of Cecilia Devine, whose body was found in 2019. Devine, also known as Kristen Pearson, was 41 when she went missing from Waratah in September 2018. Despite police searches, her whereabouts remained unknown until March 2019, when human remains were discovered in Upper Cascade Creek Dam in Katoomba. The remains were later identified as Devine.
Strike Force Eking was established to investigate the circumstances of her death, but no clear answers have been found. Authorities are urging anyone with information about her movements before her disappearance to come forward. Superintendent John Nelson hopes the reward will prompt those with knowledge of the case to assist in solving this tragic mystery.
Cecilia’s family continues to seek closure, with her mother, Kathy Pearson, urging anyone with information to help bring peace to their grieving family.
Investigations remain ongoing as police appeal for the community’s assistance.
