NSW Police Seek Justice with $1 Million Reward in 2015 Parramatta Murder Case
The NSW Government and NSW Police Force have announced a $1 million reward for information leading to an arrest in the 2015 murder of Prabha Arun Kumar. Almost a decade ago, on March 7, 2015, Prabha was tragically killed while walking home from Parramatta Station. She was speaking to her husband on the phone when an unknown person attacked her on Jubilee Lane in Parramatta Park. Emergency services responded, but Prabha’s injuries were fatal.
Following her death, Strike Force Marcoala was formed by the Homicide Squad to investigate her murder, pursuing numerous leads and issuing public appeals for assistance. Despite these efforts, the case remains unsolved. The reward aims to encourage anyone with information to come forward, with NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley emphasizing the importance of community assistance to provide Prabha’s family with closure.
Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty, head of the Homicide Squad, reaffirmed the police’s commitment to solving Prabha’s case and delivering justice. The reward, he hopes, will prompt anyone with knowledge to help bring her killer to justice.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
